Lately I’ve been inspired. Mostly by things completely outside o f my comfort zone but sometimes I see things that take me completely by surprise.
Case in point? Blogs.
I had one about a year ago. Used it to update my friends who no longer sleep a stone’s throw from me. Gave up on it due to lack of attention span / time. Mostly, I think I took it too seriously. As if I put too much pressure on myself to really say something or provide a real insight into how my life was going. But let’s be honest here folks, no one reads blogs to find out how much I am dreading the next week of work or how my trip to Austin went. We enjoy the silly, light-hearted posts. The ones where you can really hear the voice behind the typing, and you can remember all the things that you laughed about together in years gone by.
Case in point. My friend Ming writes a blog. Mostly to keep those of us who aren’t on the “no plan plan” as she refers to it, about where she’s going next for her travel nurse job. 90% of the posts are hilarious insights on things that she runs into in her various travels. I.e. a recent post about creating up a complete lie about her life/goals/plans/name to this guy she met on a plane. I laughed because I recognize her bar name (Emily) and because I have been known to lie about my identity in previous flights.
So? What am I trying to get at? Yeah I don’t know either. Except that I’m back. And I promise not to take this too seriously. And that I hope you get a couple minutes of entertainment every so often when you find your browser locked onto my little piece of internetis.
